ABOUT
ABOUT OUR INITIATIVE
Built with communities.
Not just for them.
PROTECT Canada exists because the problems facing children and survivors are too big and too complex for any single organization to solve alone. We are the connective tissue that helps existing work translate into national policy change.

OUR MISSION
A unified, trauma-informed reform agenda .
To establish a national policy and advocacy framework that advances a unified, trauma-informed reform agenda - closing the systemic gaps that enable child sexual abuse and impede survivor recovery.
We work across six priority domains - judicial reform, online safety, institutional accountability, survivor rights, prevention, and trafficking response - through a coordinated multi-sector coalition model.
THE CASE FOR NATIONAL COORDINATION
Fragmentation is not a funding problem. It is a systems problem.
National scope
We work across provinces and territories, building consistency where fragmentation has failed.
Trauma-informed at the foundation
Every pillar, working group, and recommendation is grounded in trauma-informed, survivor-centred principles from the start.
Survivor-centred
Survivor perspectives are core to the framework’s legitimacy, not consulted as an afterthought.
Reconciliation-grounded
Indigenous children are disproportionately represented in child protection systems. Reconciliation principles are embedded in every pillar.
Non-partisan
Durable reform outlasts any single government. We build recommendations that can achieve cross-partisan support.
OUR VALUES
How we work
Evidence and lived experience
01
We build on science. We are guided by the people who have lived what we are trying to change.
Collaboration over competition
02
The organizations in this coalition are building something together that none of them can build alone.
Accountability
03
We hold systems accountable. We hold ourselves accountable too.
Urgency
04
Children are being harmed right now. We work with the urgency that reality demands.
